The man who did this was a far right wing radical. He consistently calls himself a conservative. I watched the video and this is mostly the message of Geert Wilders, word by word.
Note that this man was a Christian Fundamentalist. The idea of religion suffers another fatal blow in credibility this week. A man like Anders Behring Breivik would probably kill me if he had the chance – I stand for most things he appears to hold in deep resentment. Well I guarantee anyone – the feeling is mutual.
In the 1500-page manifesto, posted on the web hours before the attacks, Breivik recorded a day-by-day diary of months of planning for the attacks and claimed to be part of a small group that intended to ”seize political and military control of Western European countries and implement a cultural conservative political agenda
The tragedy is that the world at large is in the grips of a technological and economic revolution that makes it all likelier people like this will feel compelled to do this more, and have the means available to do this more effectively. As more and more people stand apart from society and a sense of meaning more will resort to these kinds of acts.
